Torronsuo National Park is a natural state, a large swamp in Tammela, Häme Lake Uplands, which is a rugged backwoods region with forest shores. In addition to beautiful beaches there are forests of different ages and valuable swamp areas. Torronsuo and village of Torro offers several hiking trails, which are great all-day camping destinations. Especially in spring and autumn Torronsuo is worth observing bird migration. Many species of birds, such as cranes and geese, stop at the swamp to rest.

  • The largest raised bog in Southern Finland, whose rugged natural landscape offers a resting place for migrating cranes, are sights in their own right. The wide open mire landscape can be admired from the Kiljamo nature tower or Idänpäänkallio.
  • The trail (around 3 km) starting by Kiljamo campfire site runs across the Torronsuo bog to the old Härksaari quarry. Using a map, you can continue via the Torro village (10 km).
  • The Häme Nature Centre in Tammela provides information on the national park, hiking opportunities and the Häme Lake Uplands. The exhibition 'The Call of the Crane' introduces visitors to Torronsuo and mire wildlife in Southern Finland.
